I have made 4 visits to what use to be my Mountain Bluebird viewing spot; the Columbia Valley with no luck. I got some great images of Evening Grosbeaks and Red-breasted Sapsuckers but no Bluebirds. I did get to see one in the Dewdney area east of Mission and it was actively hunting and eating. Eating by Nick, on Flickr Eating by Nick, on Flickr I have made a several trips to the Hope Airpark in the last week or so. The first day it was very quiet and not much to be seen. The next trip was much more productive and there were 8 mostly hanging out between the weather station and the terminal building and out to the runway. It was a little later in the morning and it was quite bright so most of my images ended up being backlit. Mountain Bluebirds by Nick, on Flickr Yesterday I had trouble finding them at first but Paul mentioned he saw them on Jack's farm fields just west of the airfield. When I checked them out I found 9 and they flew on both sides of the road between the fields. I suspect that when they disappeared they were not too far away and if I had wanted to stay longer I could have driven around and found them. Good Birding!

Good to see you out there Nick. I really like the first shots of the bluebird with the grub.
