I saw a first winter Harris’s Sparrow in Sumas Prairie. It was seen about a kilometre South of Hougan Park, along the Sumas River.

Ed, nice sighting. Not too many records in March for the area. Would be cool to see one in breeding plumage.

The latest one I've ever seen was late April at my feeders in 2008. It popped up for just a minute and disappeared into the bush and I never saw it again. I waited for quite awhile as I wanted a better photo! It was almost in full breeding colours. _dsc1904 by Gord G, on Flickr We do have a late June record when Brent Schmor found one out in Dewdney.
