2018 - 3 Favorite photos from BC outside the Fraser Valley

Most of my birding time is spent in the Fraser Valley but I do go outside the area frequently enough that I got some favorite images from other parts of BC.


I have been looking for Williamson's Sapsuckers for several years and I finally tracked down a pair to August Lake and another lone one to the Kane Valley last spring on the same day.

I love the call of the Western Meadowlark and while visiting the Kamloops area I was able to stop on this goat trail of a road and almost reach out and touch this bird.

On a beautiful morning out at Brydon Lagoon in Langley I spotted this Merlin who was very interested in a Downy Woodpecker who was cleaning bugs from deep in a bush.
