Today was the first time that i witnessed a Bald Eagle dive into a ditch and come out with a Mallard Duck. There were 2 Female Northern Harriers in the exact same spot which caused a bit of excitement when the Eagle went into the ditch beside her. The Kestrel was on Bowman Rd and he has his breakfast under his foot.

Any idea what organization would have attached the patagial tag on the harrier? Always interesting to find out info on tagged birds...

Kevin most likely it was tagged at the Vancouver Airport. They're doing a study to determine if raptors captured and released elsewhere won't return to the airport and risk getting hit by planes.
I've seen a couple Red-tailed Hawks with tags this fall and must not forget to report them to the them.
