The Bald Eagles are gathering around the Harrison River for the yearly salmon run. The water levels in the Nicomen Slough have dropped and more sand bars are becoming visible allowing more areas for the salmon to hang up and allow areas in which the Bald Eagles, gulls and crows can feed. I checked out the Harrison River yesterday and the water level was still quite high hopefully it will drop more to allow more eagles to congregate for better feeding and viewing by us. On the Nicomen Slough there were some disputes as to who gets the fish. Incoming! by Nick, on Flickr Some will share but only after they are finished but the occasional tidbit floating away are seized on by the gulls and crows. Looking for leftovers. by Nick, on Flickr Some have had their fill and are content to rest in nearby trees.
