We're downsizing and it's time to part reluctantly with some long-time friends. I have a bunch of birding books I'll sell for very reasonable prices, largely ID guides or guides to geographical areas or countries. Some are a bit dated now, but all are good sources of information. Email me at smkd AT shaw DOT ca if you're interested. You would have to come and pick them up near the Clearbrook Road freeway exit in Abbotsford. Some are well used and worn, but most are in very nice condition.
Some examples:
The following are all in that series of identification guides to various groups of birds of the world, published by Houghton Mifflin or Princeton University Press:
Waterfowl
Seabirds
Shorebirds
Owls
Skuas and Jaegers
Gulls
Woodpeckers
Crows and Jays
Thrushes
New World Blackbirds
Finches and Sparrows
Sparrows and Buntings
Several by Paul A. Johnsgard that are more general and deal with life history as well (all large format hardcover books):
Hawks, Eagles and Falcons of North America
The Plovers, Sandpipers and Snipes of the World
North American Owls
Diving Birds of North America
And similar titles by other authors:
Ducks, Geese and Swans of North America
Birds of Prey: Natural history and conservation of North American Raptors
Photographic Guide to the Shorebirds of the World
Seabirds of the World
Several geographical guides:
Atlas of Breeding Birds of Alberta
Atlas of Birds of Saskatchewan
Birds of the Elbow (Region of Saskatchewan around Lake Diefenbaker)
Birds of the Yukon Territory
Breeding Birds of Washington State
Atlas of Oregon Wildlife (Amphibians, Reptiles, Breeding Birds and Mammals)

The Handbook of Bird Identification for Europe and the Western Palearctic (by Madge and Burn)
Handbook of the Birds of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, VOLUME 3 only - nearly 1000 pages on Waders and Gulls - many species that migrate through here or show up as vagrants)
Several paperback volumes in Arthur Bent's Life History series, including:
Birds of Prey (2 vols)
Shorebirds (2 vols)
Gulls and Terns
Marsh Birds
Woodpeckers
Several Dictionaries/Encyclopedias of Birds, and general Ornithology books.
Several DeLorme Atlas and Gazeteer volumes:
Washington (120 pages)
Oregon (88 pages)
Northern California (125 pages)
Southern and Central California (127 pages)
Arizona (75 pages)
Texas (168 pages)
These are large scale books with fine scale topographic maps showing all backroads, recreation areas, etc., for the entire state. I know there’s lots available online now, but I don’t want to recycle them if someone would find them useful.
And more.
