The list is updated so if there are any errors let us know. We had some great species this month.

Good species indeed! What a great end to the month.
Checking my field notebook I see Brown-headed Cowbird from last week in a flock of starlings, Red-wing and Brewer's Blackbirds in Chilliwack. Chilliwack River on the weekend had American Dippers.

Someone emailed me photos from Cheam Lake to confirm that they were indeed Cackling Geese. They were seen on the 30th. New species for September's list!

A friend showed me two photos this morning wondering what species of birds she had seen. One was a Clark's Nutcracker seen in Manning Park, and the other was a juvenile American Avocet seen in the northeast corner of Mill Lake in Abbotsford on Sept 2, 2009. A new species for the Sept list and a new dot for the seasonal checklist. A nice find for this area, and besides, it was right beside the path and very cooperative for photos, she said.
