The Sharp-tailed Sandpiper was there this morning from 8-9am I arrived and Gord was already there and pointed the bird out. Pectoral (not a Sharp-tailed) SandpiperAlso present were Least, Baird's and Pectoral Sandpipers. Baird's with The Sharp-tailedPectoral They are in the cut area of the sod farm on the south side of Campbell rd. DaveP

Sharp-tailed Sandpiper still there late this afternoon with 6 Baird's Sandpipers, 4 Least Sandpipers, 1 Semipalmated Plover, 15 Pectoral Sandpipers and 15+ Killdeer.

Would someone mind pointing out the key ID features distinguishing pectoral from sharp-tailed? Thanks!!

Dave B, thanks for the update. Randy, I posted a little something in the identification section that may help. Dave P, nice to see you today. Your picture at the top is a Pectoral and you are right on the bottom one. The Baird's Sandpiper photo almost could have the Sharp-tailed in the background but this is mostly going off the chestnut crown and what looks like fairly strong eyebrows. The first Western Meadowlark of the fall was also seen by Dave and I.
