After shunning us for our October monthly challenge list, this guy (if the same bird) showed up in its regular spot today at Island 22. I was pleased when my binoculars saw something similar to this! ;D ;D Got some closer shots. It seems to be moving into nonbreeding colours as there is some more dark feathering on the face. A Sharp-shinned Hawk flew over as well as a flock of Green-winged Teal. A good 300+ Cackling Geese were among about 200 Canada Geese. Amazing how the two keep separate from each other. A Red-necked Grebe was also spotted.

Today I saw photographs of this guy taken on the 31st of October. I take back my earlier comments about missing it for October! Wow, the month of October just got better!!

Great to see that he's back or a second one has decided to show up!
Love the picture of the teal.
